ZooMontana 2026 Party for the Planet®

ZooMontana is excited to welcome visitors and guests to Party for the Planet®  on April 18th, 2026. This family-friendly event celebrates Earth Day by providing an itinerary packed with interactive exhibits, educational talks, and hands-on activities. ZooMontana staff will be joined by more than 30 exhibitors and vendors to raise awareness about local sustainability and conservation efforts.

Exhibitors will be located throughout the Zoo, so visitors can speak with conservation organizations and partners as they explore and visit animal habitats. Zoo Educators and Animal Care Experts will offer demonstrations, wildlife encounters, and talks, including:

• Bear Safety Campsite Demo: 10:30am, located at the Grizzly Habitat o Prepare for outdoor recreation season as ZooMontana and Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks staff give tips on how to stay bear safe

• Animal Encounters: 11:00am; 1:00pm; 3:00pm, located at Outdoor Amphitheater o Get a closer look at some of the animals that call ZooMontana home

• Animal Care Demonstrations: 12:00pm and 2:00pm, located at various habitats o Learn more about how the Zoo’s Animal Caretakers look after resident animals

As an Association of Zoos & Aquariums accredited institution, ZooMontana joins zoos and aquariums across North America hosting Party for the Planet® events for local communities. Last year, AZA members engaged more than 29,000 adults and 24,000 children during Party for the Planet®. The Zoo looks forward to hosting Billings residents and out-of-town visitors during the event.

“Party for the Planet is an exciting opportunity to have fun, explore the Zoo, and most importantly, learn about amazing conservation work happening across Montana,” says Abbi Robson, Conservation Engagement Manager at ZooMontana. “We’re excited to host environmental nonprofits, agencies, and local businesses who are leaders in responsible land stewardship and conservation.”

Admission during the event is reduced for attendees who bring unwanted or outdated electronics to recycle, as well. For more information on eligible electronics, please visit ECOCell’s website here.
