The Fall Home Improvement Show Is Back at MetraPark
Fall has a way of making you notice your house again. The project you ignored all summer suddenly feels a little more urgent. Maybe the windows need replacing before another Montana winter, the kitchen is ready for an update, or you're already thinking ahead to the patio you want finished next spring. Whatever is on the list, the Fall Home Improvement Show is bringing a whole lot of ideas under one roof this September.
The 33rd Annual Fall Home Improvement Show returns to the Expo Center at MetraPark September 11 through 13, with more than 400 exhibits filling over 100,000 square feet indoors and another 35,000 square feet outside. Admission and parking are both free, which makes it an easy weekend stop whether you're actively planning a project or just curious about what's new.
One of the best reasons to go is pretty simple. You can actually meet the people behind the businesses. About 90% of the exhibitors are local, giving homeowners a chance to ask questions and compare options without spending weeks calling around town. For anyone hoping to tackle a remodel or larger home project in the coming months, September is also a smart time to start those conversations. Contractor schedules can fill quickly, especially when spring projects start stacking up.
The show covers everything from do-it-yourself projects to larger renovations and custom design. Exhibitors will have interactive displays, demonstrations and products visitors can see up close before deciding whether they make sense at home. Some businesses also use the show to introduce new products and services, so you may catch ideas that haven't become widely available yet.
This is a whole family affair. The Kids Experience returns with free activities including face painting, balloon animals and a kids archery shoot. Food trucks and specialty food vendors will also be on site throughout the weekend, making it pretty easy to spend a few hours exploring without hearing, "Can we go yet?" every five minutes.
Don’t forget the prizes! This year's giveaway package is valued at more than $50,000 and includes home improvement packages, appliances, tools and other prizes from area businesses. Visitors can register for the grand prizes at the Expo Center during the show.
The Fall Home Improvement Show runs Friday, September 11 from noon to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the MetraPark Expo Center.
Even if the only thing on your home project list right now is "figure out what we want to do," this might be a pretty good place to start.
