Jet’s Pizza

When it comes to pizza, Billings has many options, but there’s one new name that’s shaking things up: Jet’s Pizza. If you haven’t tried Detroit-style pizza yet, it’s time to get on board. This thick, airy, crispy-edged, cheese-to-the-very-edge creation is unlike anything else in town. Once you’ve had a bite, you’ll understand why Jet’s is making waves.

The story behind Jet’s arrival in Billings is one of business smarts, a little fate, and a whole lot of love for great food. It all started with a franchise journey with Qdoba, bringing together a team of experienced food industry operators to open locations across Montana. When it came time to expand into something new, the search led straight to Jet’s Pizza. Thanks to its reputation, a strong company foundation, and, most importantly, incredible food, it was an easy choice. With a background in managing multiple franchise locations, the transition to Jet’s made perfect sense, offering something different to the Billings pizza scene without competing with their existing businesses.

Jet’s sets itself apart with its commitment to fresh ingredients and the artistry behind its dough. Made fresh daily, their pizza dough comes in two varieties: one for their signature Detroit-style pies and another for their traditional round pizzas and Jet’s Boats. Their traditional style pizzas are offered New York style thin and foldable, as well as a slightly thicker version. Jet’s Boats resemble a calzone where the dough is folded over the fillings.  Gluten-free and cauliflower crusts are also available.

What makes Detroit-style so unique? Originating in the 1940s, this pizza is baked in a square pan, and unlike most round pizzas that leave a plain crust border, Jet’s takes the cheese all the way to the edge. That’s where the magic happens, creating a caramelized, crispy cheese crust is the kind of bite that makes you pause and appreciate pizza on a whole new level. Their 4-corner pizza is a favorite, giving each slice two sides of that crave-worthy crunchy edge. And for those who don’t want to fight over corner pieces, they’ve got an 8-corner version, making sure everyone gets a piece of the good stuff.

Even though Jet’s has a menu packed with options, one clear fan favorite is the Pepperoni 4 Corner Detroit-Style Pizza. It’s straightforward, classic, and lets the crispy, cheesy crust shine. But if you’re looking for a wild card recommendation, you might be surprised to hear that the owner, who grew up in Chicago and has strong feelings about what pizza should be, says the must-try menu item is the Chicken Bacon Ranch. It breaks all the traditional pizza rules with ranch dressing, cheddar cheese, chicken, and bacon, but the result is something so undeniably delicious that even a Chicago-style purist has to admit defeat.

Bringing a new pizza concept to town comes with its challenges, and for Jet’s, the biggest hurdle is simple, getting people to try it. Detroit-style isn’t as well-known as New York or Chicago-style pizza, so the team has been all about getting their pies into the hands and mouths of locals. From delivering free lunches to businesses to setting up at the Farmer’s Market this summer, they’re ensuring people get a taste of what they’re all about. Once you try it, you get it.

Jet’s is all about keeping things simple and letting the pizza do the talking, but they still find ways to have a little fun with their customers. Keep an eye out for their occasional 4-corner pizza for $4.44 deal or grab a heart-shaped pizza when Valentine’s Day rolls around. They’ve also started giving back to the community, donating pizzas for local fundraisers, and teaming up with Qdoba to support organizations fighting childhood hunger.

At the end of the day, Jet’s is here to bring something fresh and different to Billings while keeping the experience friendly, fun, and full of great pizza. Whether you’re a die-hard traditionalist or ready to explore something new, there’s a pizza with your name on it. And if you haven’t had Detroit-style yet, consider this your official invitation, it’s time to discover what you’ve been missing.
