The 30th Anniversary Spring Home Improvement Show is bursting at the seams. Happening in the Expo Center @ Metrapark, the show is recognized as the largest Fall Trade Show in a five-state area (MT, ID, SD, ND, WY) with over 400 exhibits spanning from the East coast to the West Coast, from Canada, and most importantly from right here in Billings. The show is considered the region’s most prominent and revered trade show. The show will encompass over 100,000 square feet of inside exhibit space along with over 35,000 square feet of outside exhibit space. Not only are admission and parking FREE but all kids activities are FREE as well! By Saturday morning all of the exhibits will have been judged and the coveted 1st , 2nd , and 3rd place “Best of Show” awards will be proudly displayed. For expanded information go to the web site at: www.billingshomeimprovementshow.com.

The show continues to grow and gain in popularity every year. The producers of the show, Beau and Devon Hedin attribute this as a result of the attendees being able to see the quantity (400+) and the quality of home improvement exhibits all within one show, thus saving attendees valuable time and effort. With a thriving local economy, the desire for home owners to turn their homes into a more enjoyable environment, remodeling, decorating, and building is at an all-time high. The majority of businesses exhibiting at the show are from Billings, thus all business transactions and revenue derived from these transactions remains in our community. Many businesses use the show to introduce and test the waters with new products and services. Demonstrations of these products and services are always a big hit at the show. A huge variety of specialty food and drinks will be located throughout the show for weary show goers.

When the show first started 30 years ago in the corridors of Rimrock Mall, it was typical for exhibitors to come only hours before the show to set up their displays. As the show has grown over the years and the complexity of the displays has increased some exhibits start setting up as early as ten days prior to the event. The show was located at the Mall for its first two years and consisted of 92 exhibits. In the third year the show moved to the Holiday Inn Trade Center. The Trade center was a brand new building and gave the show the ability to grow to 175 exhibits. After five years the show expanded to two buildings - The Trade Center and the Ramada Inn Convention Center, allowing for 250 exhibits. After seven more years at these two buildings the Expo Center at MetraPark was built. The show moved over to the newly built Expo Center which gave the show the opportunity to expand to 450 exhibits. This year, which marks the 30th anniversary, the show is in the Expo Center, the largest trade show building in the state. This will give the show over 400 exhibit spaces. In an era of national economic growth, the major expansion of the show, and the large representation of local businesses in the show, truly indicates the economy in and around Billings is well.

Interactive displays are always a big hit at the show so that attendees can experience products to see how they would perform at home. r “Special Features” will include a custom backyard putting green, custom water features, live cooking demo’s, the latest home entertainment electronics and more. All special feature rooms and demos are held in conjunction with the show and are free of charge.

The next generation of home improvers will have equally as much fun taking part in the Kids Experience. Conveniently located throughout the show kids have the opportunity to let loose and have fun. Headlined by Lowes who will host the ever popular kids workshops where kids & parents can bond all while taking home a handmade memory. As always, it is free. In addition, kids can enjoy the Cabela’s Archery Shoot, Pouch Mates, as well as custom balloon animals from Patty Cakes the Clown, compliments of Lynnrich, and more free candy than they can gather. All kids activities associated with the show are free of charge.

Food is always a big hit at the Show. It is as diverse as the exhibitors and offer food you can’t get every day. Following the Food Truck movement some of Billings favorite food trucks will be “smoking” food to perfection.

National touring displays will be coming to the show which are “as-seen-on tv” products. These innovative and handy gadgets will be a go to for your home. These big market, innovative, and ever-popular products are so much fun you never realized you could not live without them.

Live Demonstrations are always a huge hit! Come interact with the latest home improvement trends and technologies. In addition, the BBB will be on hand doing presentation each hour, educating the general public on the ins and outs of hiring a local contractor and Americlean will be showcasing live HVAC cleaning.
