We've had some trouble with focused non-terminal repeating phantasms at the historic Babcock Theatre lately, and in order to satisfy them, we will be putting on THREE special screenings of Ivan Reitman's 1984 paranormal comedy classic, GHOSTBUSTERS, Friday and Saturday, October 11th and 12th, in celebration of the film's 40th anniversary! It's really no wonder at all why such an entertaining premise has gradually sprawled out into the widely loved franchise it is today, and whether this will be your first time seeing it or another repeated viewing, you certainly do not want to miss your chance to catch such a legendary adventure at a historic theatre!
Starring a cast loaded with prominent actors from Saturday Night Live, including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis, this paranormal thrill ride focuses on a team of parapsychologists who have just been stripped of their academic posts at a prestigious university. Funding themselves, the team invests in an old firehouse as a base of operations where they set up business, advertising themselves as a sort of supernatural exterminator. Dare I say... GHOSTBUSTERS??? When a cellist calls upon them believing a demonic portal exists in her refrigerator, the crew's research begins to point to something archaic and otherworldly being responsible for the influx of paranormal activity in the New York area- something that could have apocalyptic results if not pacified!
