Adjust your tracking, folks, for we are once again rewinding back to the past with another film in our ongoing Nostalgia Night series! For this month's film, we will be playing a special screening of Tamra Davis's excellent 1995 absurdist comedy, BILLY MADISON, at the historic Babcock Theatre, Wednesday, February 19th! Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, BILLY MADISON is a nostalgia goldmine concocted by polarizing comedy legend of SNL and Happy Madison fame, Adam Sandler, that is a definite cornerstone of 90s comedy. Regardless of your opinion on it, BILLY MADISON has left an undeniable impact on the ever-shifting face of comedy that helped to inspire countless other comedians, and it is further remembered as a real video-store classic (the kind where you are surprised holes weren't burned into the magnetic tape), making it a perfect film for our Nostalgia Night series!
The Sand-Man stars as the titular Billy Madison, the 27-year-old son of Bryan Madison, an extremely rich man who made his money in the hotel industry. Billy stands to inherit his father's empire, but only if he is able to prove he has the intellect to run a business by going back to school and working through all twelve grades (two weeks per grade) and passing a final exam proving his growth!
