Baroque Music Montana (BaMM) presents a concert program "I Melt Like Snow in the Sun of Your Beauty," in the living room-like setting of the Great Room at Prescott Hall on the Rocky Mountain College Campus, Friday November 22nd at 7:30pm.
Baroque Music Montana specializes in tunes and tales from antiquity, presented in small and interactive spaces similar to which the music was intended, and performed on historic, period instruments.
This intimate concert features profane and passionate love songs for lute and light voice, along with virtuoso instrumental flights of fancy for baroque violin and dulcian, the sweet and vocal precursor to the bassoon. The musicians head directly from the concert to the arts center Tippet Rise, having been invited to record this program there for album release. Repertoire includes works from the early 17th century by Monteverdi, Marini, Merula, and others.
