Thursday, August 15th, we will be showing another great 90s comic book movie (I feel like we are getting a lot of those this year- I like it!) at the historic Babcock Theatre for you to come and see! This time, Chuck Russel's insane adaptation of the gritty graphic novel, THE MASK, jumps out of the pages and onto the big screen once again in celebration of the film's 30th anniversary! Jim Carrey utilizes his elastic and emotive face and personality to the fullest in his starring role as bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss, who discovers a magical mask containing the spirit of Loki, Norse god of trickery. As he wears the mask, Stanley becomes charismatic playboy with supernatural charm and energy, but at the cost of not being in full control of his actions. After robbing a bank in cartoonish style, Stanley angers crime lord Dorian Tyrell, whose men are pinned as the culprits of the heist, and zany street violence ensues!
