A Free Night of Music, Food, and Farewell at Symphony in the Park

Twenty years is a long time to pour your heart into a community. But that's exactly what Maestra Anne Harrigan has done with the Billings Symphony, and on June 28th at Pioneer Park, Billings gets to say thank you in the best way possible: with an unforgettable night of music under the Montana sky.

Every summer, something magical happens at Pioneer Park. Blankets spread across the grass, the smell of food trucks drifting through the warm evening air, and the sound of an orchestra filling the Big Sky. That's Symphony in the Park, and this June 28th, the Billings Symphony is making it one for the books.

A Send-Off 20 Years in the Making

This year's event carries a little extra weight. Symphony in the Park marks the final performance of Maestra Anne Harrigan with the Billings Symphony before her retirement after two incredible decades with the orchestra. The symphony is determined to send her off in style, with a lineup stacked full of her favorite guest artists from over the years. Think of it as a greatest-hits celebration and a heartfelt farewell, all rolled into one evening. If a Billings Symphony performance has ever moved you, this is the one to be at.

More Than Just a Concert

The fun kicks off well before the first note. Starting at 4:00 PM, Pioneer Park will be buzzing with family activities, including a Kids' Conducting Contest, an instrument "petting zoo" where little ones can get hands-on with real instruments, face painting, and plenty of food trucks to keep everyone fueled up.

The musical entertainment opens with tunes from the Montana Fiddle Club, followed by the Billings Community Band at 5 PM. It's the perfect warm-up before the Billings Symphony closes out the evening at 7.

Free and Open to Everyone

One of the best things about Symphony in the Park is that it's completely free to attend. It's part of the Billings Symphony's broader commitment to making music accessible for all, with more than 310 free educational and community outreach events offered every season. Each year, those programs reach over 35,000 people across the Billings area. Music for everyone, everywhere, no ticket required.

If you'd like to upgrade your experience, shade tent tickets and parking passes are available by calling 406-252-3610 or visiting billingssymphony.org.
