Watercolor Landscape with Ceilon Aspensen

In this fun, low-pressure, 6-week course, we will work on a watercolor landscape painting from your own photos, or photos that I provide (your choice). We will cover the basics of good landscape composition (foreground, middleground, background), how to create realistic depth in your paintings using atmospheric and linear perspective, color theory for maximum dramatic effect and realistic light, and how to make the most of the luminosity only watercolor paint can provide. We will also work on realistic drawing and simple techniques for translating your image accurately from the photo to your painting. Students from beginner to advanced are welcome and I will have something for everyone to take you from wherever you are (including “I’ve never done a watercolor painting before”) to completing a landscape you can be proud of. All supplies will be provided.
