Urban Sketching Quick Start w. John Kennedy

mar 30 @9:00aM, apr 24 @6:00pm, & apr 27 @9:00am

Urban Sketching is sketching on location in an urban environment. It can be outdoors or indoors, it can be sketching buildings, people, or your tea and muffin at a local coffee shop. Urban Sketching is about capturing the moment in line, color, and words. Styles are as varied as sketchers. The materials you draw on or with can be as creative and interesting as you choose. With better weather just around the corner, now is the time to create a sketchbook habit that will help you document your life.

In this quick start workshop we will introduce you to the world of Urban Sketching. But the techniques you will use can translate to almost any manner of creative journaling. We will practice drawing using lines, color, composition, and text as we learn the building blocks for sketching everything from simple vignettes of daily life to beautiful street scenes. See your world through a clearer lens as we explore together this fascinating social practice of creative observation. All supplies provided, including a sketchbook.
