Introducing the next film to play at the historic Babcock Theatre as part of our ongoing Late Night series! This time, we are taking you to the grimy underbelly of the performance world with Adam Rifkin's THE DARK BACKWARD! This surreal, insane dark comedy has such an odd, hyperbolic style that will make you question what you are witnessing as it delivers satirical messages about the problems of modern showbusiness- and you're gonna love it! Judd Nelson stars as Marty Malt, a man who is encouraged to pursue his stand-up comedy by his fellow garbage man, Gus. Although Gus, who joins Marty on the accordion, proceeds to tell Marty how great he is, he truthfully stinks. But when Marty unexpectedly begins to grow a third arm out of his back, Gus uses this to their advantage and signs him up with a sleazy talent agent, possibly allowing a change of scenery to enter Marty's life since his girlfriend left him!
