Announcing another great music film from 1984 that you can watch after you've seen STOP MAKING SENSE! August 10th, the historic Babcock Theatre will be hosting a special screening Albert Magnoli's stunning Prince music drama, PURPLE RAIN, in celebration of the film's 40th anniversary! The late Prince stars and performs the music for this awesome romantic drama that sits between the plains of fantasy and reality, full of sights and sounds that still sensually woos the crowd, just the way Prince intended! The Kid is a Minneapolis musician who plays in his band the revolution, attempting to escape from his tumultuous home life as well as his own anger through music. Determined to no grow up to be like his father, The Kid navigates the club and music scenes hoping to make a name for himself, while falling into a dramatic relationship the captivating club singer, Apollonia- but his future appears to be at stake when Morris, another Minneapolis musician, aims to steal the Kid's spotlight as well as Apollonia!
