various dates 2021 at 6:35 PM, Sundays at 1:05 pm
History was made on Tuesday, May 4, 1948, when the Mustangs and Salt Lake City Bees played the first game of organized professional baseball ever to be staged in Billings. Billings Mayor H.E. Biddinger threw out the ceremonial first pitch in front of 3,280 fans who braved near freezing temperatures. Gene Brocker's long double in the ninth inning scored Kenny Jensen from first base, providing the visitors from Salt Lake City with a narrow, 3-2, victory and spoiling the Mustangs home opener.
The Billings Mustangs announced their 2021 Pioneer League regular season schedule. The schedule features 96 games, with 48 of them in Billings and an equal number on the road. That is twenty more games – and 10 more home games – than in previous years. This year’s schedule features one other change, as the Mustangs will travel to and host the newest member of the Pioneer League, the Boise Hawks. Boise makes their first trip to Billings in nearly 60 years on Wednesday, July 21, for a 6-game homestand.
