May 3rd, we will be playing a special screening of David and Jerry Zucker's hilarious 1984 comedy satire, TOP SECRET, at the historic Babcock Theatre! A mid 80s masterpiece parody of classic spy films, Elvis movies, and mid century political melodramas (fitting released towards the end of the Cold War!), TOP SECRET stars the late Val Kilmer in one of his funniest roles, dishing out absurd insanity alongside a talent cast of supporting actors throwing themselves headfirst into the Zucker brothers' trademark zaniness! It's a legitimately hilarious film that presents itself so uniquely, it borders on the surreal and will leave questioning reality!
Popular suave American singer Nick Rivers travels to East Germany to perform in a music festival. While there, Nick falls for the beautiful Hillary Flammond and soon finds himself caught up in an underground resistance movement that sees him teaming up with agents in an effort to rescue Hillary's scientist father from the German's who are hoping to coerce him into developing a powerful new naval mine!
