When successful composer John Russel suffers the loss of his wife and daughter in a tragic accident, he moves to Seattle in an attempt to overcome it and build a new and peaceful life in a large, lonely old house that has been vacant for years. Soon after moving in, John experience strange phenomena in the house, and as he makes efforts to get to the bottom of it, he makes discoveries about the house's history. As John attempts to put all the pieces together, the ghostly activity ramps up in intensity as the house's past as well as his own begin to absorb his life.
