Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky | Art House Billings | @Babcock Theatre

September 18, 2024 at 7:00 PM

We are celebrating yet another Art House staff members birthday this month! Our shift lead, Dailyn Williams, is one year older, and she is celebrating at the historic Babcock Theatre with a special screening of one of her favorite films, the 1991 hyperviolent martial arts prison epic, RIKI-OH: THE STORY OF RICKY! This incredible spectacle is without a doubt one of the best (and easily most violent) action films to come out of any country during the 1990s and is full of jaw dropping (jaw removing!) action that must be seen to be believed! Based on the first arc of the 1980s manga of the same name, RIKI-OH takes place in the dystopian, futuristic year of 2001, where pollution has turned the rain acidic, and all correctional facilities have been privatized. Riki-Ho Saiga, AKA Ricky, has been sent to one of these prisons for the manslaughter of an infamous crime boss after receiving five bullets to the chest. As Ricky discovers corruption within the sea of cruelty, he aims to take down the evil prison warden and his chief officer who are running an opium operation out of the prison and set the other inmates free- but first, he has to take down the four infamously skilled inmates that rule over the four wings of the prison!

Go and wish Dailyn a happy birthday and make sure you come and see this absolutely insane action flick!

Cost: $9
