When a family pet chameleon named Rango falls out of his owner's vehicle amid what seems to be an actor's identity crisis, he finds himself stranded in the blistering and hostile desert before stumbling into the frontier town of Dirt. In the midst of tackling his identity crisis where he hopes to find how to stand out while he was born to blend in, opportunity strikes, and he is positioned as the towns new sheriff. Blatantly inexperienced and effectively role-playing his new job, Rango is soon forced to become the town's hero when a series of dangerous situations and concerns regarding the water supply threatens the lives of everyone in Dirt!
