We are incredibly excited to be announcing another film in our new quarter annual series presented by our close friend Art House sponsor, and local art legend, Gordon McConnell! Wednesday, April 30th, we will be playing a special screening of Marlon Brando's astounding 1961 western drama, ONE-EYED JACKS, at Art House Cinema and Pub with a special live introduction and discussion from Gordon himself!

One of the first films to truly reinvent the western film genre into something capable of being something artistically dynamic, ONE-EYED JACKS is a gritty, no-nonsense classic of the genre, seeing Marlon Brando in one of his finest roles as a vengeful outlaw in a contemplative film of revenge and regret!

Brando stars as Rio, a man on the run in Mexico with his partner, Dad Longworth, after the two have robbed a bank. Dad finds an opportunity to leave with all the money, and leaves Rio to be captured, making off with the loot while Rio goes to prison. Years later, Rio escapes from prison and begins to hunt down Dad for revenge, but the matter is more complicated now, as Dad has become a respectable sheriff in California who has been fearing the return of Rio since his betrayal.
