In Character w. Jaclyn Tobin

There’s more to creating a character than simply picking personality traits and drawing the best face shape. This writing and illustration workshop forges characters who are ready to dare the unknown. Our characters will be thrown into scenarios that demand a response. When faced with a problem and a lack of resources, what will our characters do? When conflict arises among best friends, will our characters buckle under the pressure? Over the course of the classes, we will write short stories that capture the experiences of our dynamic characters. We will use a variety of art mediums to illustrate each day’s activities. The final day will find us celebrating each other’s short stories with an Author Party. Among the snacks, music and beverages, our young authors will be mingling and sharing their favorite works from the week. All parents and grandparents are invited! Your child will bring home a collection of short stories to share with friends and family--along with a developed character that might star in future masterpieces! This class is for kids ages 10 to 12. Sign up today!
