Montana State University Billings Department of History presents the First Annual Edgerton History Lecture

Montana State University Billings Department of History is proud to present the First Annual Edgerton History Lecture. Dr. Keith Edgerton, Professor Emeritus Montana State University Billings, will be discussing “Copper King: The Life and Times of William A. Clark.” William Andrews Clark was among the most powerful and ruthless of the 19th century American robber barons. Today he is virtually anonymous. Throughout his adult life, however, Clark’s unmitigated talent for stockpiling unparalleled wealth--mansions, priceless art collections, a younger trophy wife--were sources of endless fascination for an American public. Join us as Dr. Edgerton discusses Clark’s sprawling, grandiose life, and the continuing impact that life has had on Montana’s and America’s history.
