We have been dying to announce that Wednesday, October 22nd, we will be playing a special 20th anniversary screening of acclaimed visionary director Tim Burton's charming 2005 stop motion classic, CORPSE BRIDE, at Art House Cinema and Pub as this month's film in our NOSTALGIA NIGHT series!
A timeless story of the immortality of love, CORPSE BRIDE is an incredibly unique animated feature that takes Burton's undeniably unique art style and pairs it with a gothic and atmospheric story that is both playful and morbid, feeling reminiscent of the gothic Roger Corman comedies of the 60s or something that Poe would cook up, while still remaining entirely individual!
In a 19th-century European town, Victor Van Dort is a young man about to be married to his fiance Victoria. Clearing his head outside of the chapel, Victor recites his vows and places his ring a supposed tree branch, which turns out to be the rotting hand of a CORPSE BRIDE who believes he has just wed her! Whisked away into the underworld with his misunderstanding deceased partner, Victor attempts to get back to the real world and Victoria.
