We're very excited to announce that Swedish director Magnus Von Horn's startling new thriller, THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE, will be getting a special ONE NIGHT ONLY screening at Art House Cinema and Pub, Monday, February 17th! A harrowing story of post World War I living conditions in Europe and its effects on society, THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE is a dark film based on a real case with a heavy atmosphere, shot in stark black and white that calls back to films from the Expressionism movement, that sucks the viewer into its sprawling web of intrigue and paranoia! (Bias author's note here: I (Spencer!) am VERY excited to announce this film! Regarding my own aesthetic and narrative tastes, this is the film I have been most excited to talk about for a while, and I wish were were able to give it many more screenings! If you love a stylistic, gloomy historic dramas with notes of horror, mystery, and enigmatic symbolism like me, this film is for you! Do what you will with that information!)

Unable to receive widow's compensation with her husband, a soldier in the war, never being declared dead, an unemployed and pregnant woman named Karoline struggles to survive in post World War I Copenhagen. She is soon taken in by a charismatic elder and assists in her underground adoption agency. Karoline forms a strong bond with the woman, but an sudden discovery leads Karoline to suspect her of having darker intentions.
