Once every few months, local artist legend and long time friend of Art House Billings, Gordon McConnell, will be presenting a special screening of significant classic westerns that should be admired for the inspiration they have had on countless directors, actors, and creators of all types! To kick this exciting new series off, Gordon is sending in a real heavy hitter, that being Sam Peckinpah' terrific 1973 western thriller, PAT GARRETT AND BILLY THE KID, screening Wednesday, January 29th! A seasoned veteran in the field of gritty westerns, Peckinpah crafts an excellent blend of drama and action with a splendid dramatization of the battle between legendary outlaw figures Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid! A western full of well acted, nuanced emotions, as well as plenty of guns a-blazin' in a number of stone cold shootouts, PAT GARRETT AND BILLY THE KID is one of the best westerns of the 1970s that you won't want to miss with us!

Old west outlaw Pat Garrett is hired as a lawman by a number of wealthy New Mexico cattle barons to bring down the notorious Billy the Kid. Accepting the dirty job, emotions complicate the situation through circumstances of Garrett and Billy the kid being old friends.
