History Book Club @ This House of Books

The selection for May is Pretty-shield: Medicine Woman of the Crows, by Frank Linderman. The lives, responsibilities, and aspirations of Crow women are vividly brought to life in these pages as Pretty-shield recounts her life on the Plains of long ago when the buffalo were still plentiful.
The History Book Club reads a history book each month then meets at This House of Books to discuss it.
After the nominated books for the High Plains Book Awards are announced in June, we will begin reading from the lists of Nonfiction and Creative Nonfiction finalists. We plan to begin discussions of these in July.
