Weathering with You (2019) is a Japanese animated romantic fantasy film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai.It tells the story of 16-year-old Hodaka Morishima, who runs away from his rural home to Tokyo and befriends Hina Amano, an orphan who has the ability to control the weather. The film won a number of awards, including being selected as the Japanese entry for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards. It received our Annie Award nominations, including for Best Independent Animated Feature, tying Spirited Away, Millennium Actress, (both 2001) and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2005) for the second-joint most nominations for an anime film at the Annies. This is a family friendly film with a rating of PG-13.
