HOME FOOD PRESERVATION: What's In & What's Out?

Join the Billings Community Seed Library and Sara Fluer, MSU Family & Consumer Science Extension Agent, for a program on home food preservation.

Out with the old... in with the new! Now is a great time to get up to date on the current research in home food preservation and learn why preservation methods have evolved over the years.

• Brief overview of food preservation methods - freezing, drying, canning, and more.

• Equipment essentials.

• Safety first - the importance of using research-based information, why some methods are considered out of date, and how to adapt to

current standards of practice.

Optional:

Participants may bring their pressure canner gauge for a free test at the end of the program. Master unit can only test Presto, National, Magic Seal, & Maid of Honor brand gauges.
