Cyanotype Fabric Magic for Tweens with Elizabeth Waddington

sept 13, 2022 at 4:00 PM

Use the sun and a sewing machine to make fabric magic! Cyanotype is an antique photographic printing process distinctive for producing Prussian blue monochromatic prints. It is most famous for architectural “blueprints” but are also known for children’s “sun prints”. We will use the process to create designs of white negative space on blue background. Bring special objects or cut stencil shapes from cardstock to create an 8 ½ x 11” design. You will finish your piece by free motion stitching with a sewing machine to “outline” some of your negative spaces creating emphasis of some objects. You can serge the edges to complete your art.
