A three-act drama that takes place on a single night in April 1912, with the spectre of WWI looming over Europe. Focusing on a prosperous family gathered for a celebratory dinner, Inspector Goole arrives with information regarding the suicide of a young working class woman. Each person is distinctly affected by the information. Hailed as a scathing criticism of hypocrisy, this play brings to light the interconnected nature of society.
